Born and raised in Brazil, Mauro comes to Vasken Demirjian Salon with 19 years of experience in the beauty industry. It is the last 15 years’ experience as a specialist in creating beautiful hair cut and color that gave him his unique status. Mauro’s career leaped onto a higher level when he relocated to Peekskill, NY in 1989 – the City by the River. It was in this “happening mountain scene” that he began to cultivate what would become his passion – Hair. This pursuit for high standards led Mauro to train in New York City, then soon after, Europe where he joined expert salons to hone his skills.

When he finally returned to Westchester, he held the position of Technical Hair Stylist and Colorist with The RITZ-CARLTON in White Plains, which gave him the much-needed opportunity to catapult his talent. At our salon, currently Mauro specializes in precision cutting and finding styles that suit the individuality of his clientele. Always in pursuit of “his vision”, he pays impeccable attention to detail. He is a master of his craft, constantly keeping up with the latest techniques, hair and fashion trends as soon as they are made available to him. He is constantly working on developing his own unique innovative techniques, always pushing and challenging the boundaries of hair. Above all, his unique consultation technique and warm hospitable approach that sets him apart from his colleagues.

All clients remember Mauro, whether he does their hair or not. He somehow finds the way to touch them. Not even knowing anything about his abilities, people actually are gravitating towards him, asking for his services merely based on his hospitality and warmth. That’s the ultimate compliment to Mauro and his placement in our salon, he makes everyone feel welcomed, and in doing so, he makes a great impression on the salon. Once the clients experience his unique cutting technique, his insatiable search for individual style, then they become captive audiences for life. He genuinely enjoys his work and loves life to the fullest. That is his secret to success, and so far, he is on an incredible journey.
